What is Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)?
Okay, so let’s talk about Emotional Freedom Technique AKA "EFT" or tapping. It’s similar to acupuncture without the needles. You’re using your fingertips to tap on specific points on your body while focusing on the thing that’s contributing to holding you back. Sounds a bit woo-woo? Maybe. But trust me, its proven and it works.
With EFT you can clear the mental and emotional blocks that keep you stuck. It’s practical, effective, and all about cleansing your energy and rewiring your belief system so you can show up as your best self in life and business. Think of it as your secret weapon for confidence, clarity, and unstoppable momentum.
EFT has been proven to reduce stress levels and I have witnessed its effects countless times with my private EFT clients. It never ceases to amaze me how a “block” in the present day, can be traced back to our pasts time and time again where a belief system was created due to a situation, parent or misunderstanding.
How EFT works for me
I am a 2x business owner, I live alone (so I spend a lot of time in my head!) and I do come from a tricky past. So for me, EFT has been a leading reason why I have been able to get myself to where I am today AND maintain it.
When we’re stressed, stuck, or overwhelmed, our nervous system kicks in. Some of us may come from adverse earlier experiences and our body can perceive a danger that is unproportionate to what is really going on. When the body senses danger, we enter fight-or-flight mode. But we’re not running, and we’re not fighting so the energy just ruminates. EFT calms all that down in the moment and helps you get to the root of what makes you feel unsafe in these situations. While you’re tapping, you’re saying phrases that acknowledge the block like, ‘Even though I’m scared of putting myself out there, I deeply and completely accept myself.’
And the magic? It rewires your brain and body to feel safe moving forward.
How I use EFT
I’ve used EFT to work through some big stuff - years of self-doubt, fear of judgment, and feeling like, ‘Who am I to do this?’ And let me tell you, it’s a game changer. It helped me step into my power, build my business, and even feel good showing up on camera. This stuff doesn’t come naturally for me and I used EFT right before I filmed the video in this blog. I wouldn’t have been able to without it.
How & Where to EFT Tap
We’ll use our finger tips to tap with medium pressure on these points:
Side of the Hand (Karate Chop Point): Located on the outer edge of your hand, below your pinky finger
Eyebrow Point: Found at the beginning of your eyebrow
Side of the Eye: Located on the bone at the outer corner of your eye
Under the Eye: Positioned on the bone directly under your eye
Under the Nose: The space between your nose and upper lip
Chin: The midpoint between your lower lip and the bottom of your chin
Collarbone: About an inch in from your throat on your collarbone
Under the Arm: About four inches below your armpit, along the side of your body
Top of the Head: The crown of your head, right in the center
How You Can Use EFT Right Now
Whether you’re stuck on launching your business, procrastination is killing you, social media is making you anxious, or are simply ready to let go of a pain from the past in the most loving way possible, EFT helps you clear the gunk and make space for the life you actually want.
