I was afraid of space + I bet you are too

Its a Sunday morning in Spring by the sea, I have a bit of a march on as I walk beneath trees taking the short cut into the next town over. I am en route a wellness event where I will be holding a group EFT session. I set the intention as "S P A C E" long before I knew why.

I've not prepared or pre planned it. Instead I ask to become a channel and I spend the walk noticing nature and letting the sun and shadows co-exist.

As I walk it arrives. Its like a thought but the thinking self isn't talking, she's listening. Here is what she heard -

We are accustomed to letting go but not leaving it gone

Neuroscience shows us, we are programmed to return to the familiar over the unknown EVEN if the familiar is sh*t.

Our human survival system steers choices, feelings, thoughts, behaviours towards what it can predict. We are only able to comprehend an outcome.

This means while we are familiar and even open to letting things go and working on letting things go we can see we are gripping on to. You are far less open to leaving the thing gone and holding the awkward, unknown space until something new arrives days or even weeks later.

This phenomenon means you enter a lifetime loop of letting go and re attaching. Different person, different workplace, different path and yet - the same destinations.

What if space wasn't an empty room in front of you, but it was a life force that surrounds you?

What if instead of viewing space as a dark expanse in front of us, we opened our internal sight to see it is in fact all around us. From every angle this space envelops us. It HOLDS us. It is not nothing. It is EVERYTHING.

By letting go of what no longer serves you. By showing the universe to take it away. The space this thing occupied in your life isn't left empty. Its actually moving it out the way so the universe can occupy it.

In this time, where the gap appears and you feel afraid of its absence - you are held by the same entity that we are created from, that trees are created from. What a beautiful and fertile place to be.

Just because you cannot percieve change, does not mean it isnt taking place

So the saying goes - if a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, did it make a sound?

The better question is, if a tree falls and no one is there to witness it, did it make an impact?

The answer of course is yes. That tree no longer shades the ground beneath it, it no longer permits oxygen, it now covers where it has fallen and created new homes for tiny beasts.

As humans we arrogantly persume we are the deciders. We are not.

Let go of this idea you need to have a hand in everything. Let go of the belief you need to intellectualise it for it to be true. Let the life force carry you too.

What are you afraid will meet you there?

What no one tells you is how life is perpetual cycle of grief. We love and lose. Try and fail. Trust and are hurt.

What if the goal wasn't to ever not fail, get hurt or lose. But to experience that fully, allow the space this thing once held to now envelop us and grieve.

From our grief, we open ourselves to so much love. People help, we run ourselves a bath, we ask for what we need, we sit in the grass and look to the sky.

And then a gentle nudge appears.... a nudge that sets you on the new path to what you crave in your soul.

Let go, hold space, learn...

And let the universe take you to your highest self through signs, advice, nervous system responses and so on.
